Sexual scenes are slowly gaining traction in the Kenyan film industry but some actresses refuse to do kissing or nude scenes at all.
Brenda Wairimu is not one of these and is down to getting naked on camera for the right price or if the scene is there to enhance a storyline eg: a rape scene.
She revealed this in an interview with Mwende Macharia where the host asked whether she would bare it all on camera.
“I’ve thought about this a lot and I have different ways of looking at it. First, it depends on how much you are paying me. Secondly, is it necessary for it to be there? Because sometimes some writers can be lazy. They put in a scene just to fill up the script, but it doesn’t help with the continuity of the story. If it is about pushing the story because I’m all about the story, how will I refuse? It depends. I don’t just do it for the sake of doing it,” the ‘Selina’ actress said.
Brenda Wairimu also talked of maintaining professionalism during sensual kissing scenes.
“I can categorically say that when I’m working I keep it professional. I’ve come to work. I can find people to kiss away from work. Why should I ruin my work?” she posed.
While Brenda is open to kissing scenes, Nyce Wanjeri adamantly refuses to kiss on screen.
“Kwanza hiyo ya kissing I can’t. I am sorry. I am an actress but there are some things I can’t do. I will feel guilty all my life. This is what I say, in every character you are given an opportunity to become someone else but there is still you,” Nyce said during an interview with KM Network.
