Ed Woodward Delivers Verdict On Ole Gunnar’s Future At Manchester United

Manchester United Chief Executive Officer Ed Woodward has once again expressed his confidence in the team’s head coach Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer.

The Norwegian manager was appointed last season to replace Jose Mourinho. He failed to win a single trophy nor qualify for the Champions League but the team is showing signs of improvement in his first full season in the role.

Manchester United is just three points off the top four places and still alive in the Europa League and the FA Cup.

“We are pushing for a strong finish in the Premier League, the Europa League and the FA Cup as we enter the final third of the season,” Woodward said.

Manchester United invested heavily in the January transfer window by bringing in Bruno Fernades from Sporting Lisbon for a reported fifty million pounds. The midfielder has one goal and three assists to his name in just two league matches for his new club.

Woodward promised that the club will continue to invest in such players as they look to build a title-winning team in the near future.

“We have continued to make progress on our squad rebuild, with many changes in terms of players that we have brought in and players that have come through our academy; the foundation for delivering the long-term success that we are all working towards is in place as we implement our plan and our footballing vision with Ole,” he added.

Manchester United host Club Brugge in the second leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie on Thursday before a trip to face Everton on Sunday at Goodison Park.
