Teacher Against Student As Chelsea Host Spurs At The Bridge

Frank Lampard famously scored the goal that clinched the first-ever Premier League title fo Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea in 2005. 15 years later, Lampard will be the main man in the Chelsea dugout as he squares up with Jose Mourinho, now the Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Both managers could really do with a win. Chelsea lost to Manchester United in their last home fixture barely a week ago while Spurs were humbled by RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Chelsea has been poor at home this season and risk falling out of the top four if results at Stamford Bridge fail to improve. The Blues have won just one f their last five matches in all competitions and with a clash against Bayern Munich coming up next week, things could get worse.

As for Mourinho, he is dealing with an injury crisis that has robbed him of his best-attacking talents in Harry Kane and Heung Min Son. The Portuguese manager has been forced to play Lucas Moura upfront alongside Delle Alli but the trick failed miserably in the defeat to Leipzig.

Despite the loss, however, Spurs have been on a good run of form domestically and have won the last three league matches.

The two sides are separated by a single point which makes things very interesting as far as the race to finish in the Champions League places is concerned.
