Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday visited Laikipia County to attend an empowerment program at Thiru Secondary School, Laikipia West, Laikipia County.
Thousands thronged the function as the DP who was flanked by Tanga Tanga leaders joined the area residents for the event.
During the visit, DP Ruto emphasized that the government was committed to ensuring that the necessary infrastructure is put in place for the school going children to nurture their skills.
“At the other end of the cycle, we are building and equipping technical colleges across the country to help us develop young people with the practical skills to drive Kenya’s economic transformation.
“We have increased our investment towards infrastructure in schools to enhance learning, improve student outcomes and expand enrollment,” said the DP.
Among the leaders who accompanied him in Laikipia include former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa among others.
Earlier on, the DP had attended a church empowerment function at Tunyai Parish Catholic Church, Chiakariga Tharaka-Nithi County.
