Fireworks as Junet Mohamed Takes on Murkomen at Narok BBI Rally

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed on Saturday tore into Tanga Tanga leaders over their stand on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) course.

Speaking at Narok Stadium, which was renamed Ole Ntimama Stadium, Junet accused Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and his allies of hypocrisy in the BBI agenda adding that they have been sabotaging the initiative.

According to Junet, Senator Murkomen and DP William Ruto have been derailing the progress of the course through their double stand.

“This BBI is a journey that has brought to the fore the mission of uniting the country and as a person, I must say that which pinches my heart…

“According to me in my observation, that which hinders the progress of the BBI initiative is double standard brought about by people who support the course during the day and oppose it at night. Those are the people who are sabotaging the BBI course.

“They are not attending the BBI here, they are not attending the BBI in Nairobi. Yesterday I saw Mudavadi and Kalonzo tabling their grievances but I have not seen Murkomen and Ruto tabling theirs,” said Junet.

The ODM Director of Elections further slammed the Tanga Tanga leaders for making unnecessary calls during funerals and church services instead of following set procedures in making their concerns heard.

“Murkomen and his Tanga Tanga team are only backing at funerals and churches instead of tabling their grievances at the BBI committee. If they want to be heard let them follow the right channel,” he added.

Besides, Junet also tore into the Tanga Tanga leaders over their development projects saying their calls to have farmers woes addressed were empty rhetorics.

“I was in Parliament on Thursday yesterday and a bill was tabled to address the issue of tea and how to better the lives of people.

“All those MPs I have been watching on TV barking on the need to ensure that the common citizens get cash were not present. I never saw Moses Kuria, I never saw Rigathi, I never saw Kimani Ichung’wa, their work is just to bark and collect small handouts,” said Junet.

The Narok BBI rally saw Ruto’s key allies missing in action despite having earlier sworn that they will be a party to each meeting.

The next BBI meeting is set for Garissa on Sunday.
