Wazito FC Coach Challenges His Strikers

Wazito FC head coach Stewart Hall has lamented his striker’s poor finishing as his team continues to struggle to score goals in the Kenyan Premier League and in cup matches.

Hall’s concern comes after his side’s 1-0 win over Egerton FC on Saturday in an FKF Cup round of 32 match Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.  Wazito created numerous chances in the game but just like in the league the forwards failed to bury the opportunities.

Wazito strikers have a combined tally of 4 league goals this season and the English tactician says he wants more from his strikers. He wants an end to the wastefulness his team has been experiencing during matches this campaign.

“It really concerns me because we are creating many chances but we are not converting them as we should and in some matches, it has hurt us really bad,” he said.

According to the former Sofapaka and AFC Leopards coach, his team has been doing a lot of practice on finishing in training and he says the training has been good. He now wants the attackers to replicate their training form during competitive matches.

“We spend a lot of time on finishing, but during the game, we don’t reproduce that. In training, we do it very well, the finishing is excellent and I now want my players to reproduce that during matches, I have full faith in them and I want them to be a little calmer and clinical in front of goal,” he added.

Up next for Wazito is an away game against Tusker FC at Ruaraka Stadium.
