Chelsea to Sign New Mesut Ozil

Chelsea has begun preparations for next season by signing Hakim Ziyech from Ajax Amsterdam for a fee of around 40 million pounds, a value many argue is a steal in the current market.

The Blues are not done yet and have now shifted their focus on Austria youngster Melih Ibrahimoglu who turns out for Austrian giants, Rapid Vienna.

Dubbed the new Mesut Ozil due to similarity in their style of play, the 19-year old has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe with AS Roma and Sampdoria among those interested in netting the attacking midfielder who has turned out for Austria U20 team.

The player’s contract expires in the summer of 2021 and has reportedly turned down a chance to sign a new deal with Vienna. The club is reportedly willing to cash in and the player could be available for as little as 3 million pounds.

Chelsea coach Frank Lampard is keen on replacing aging players in his team and at 19, Melih perfectly fits into the age-bracket of players they are looking at.
