VIDEO: Ruto’s Guards Manhandle Woman After Attempting to Breach DP’s Security

A Nairobi woman on Sunday found herself in a tight spot after she attempted to breach Deputy President William Ruto’s security detail, to get the elusive chance to speak to the DP.

The incident happened as the deputy head of state exited a church in Dandora, where he had attended a religious service, alongside his Tangatanga troops.

In the viral video, the unlucky woman is seen forcefully trying to make her way past Ruto’s police officers and bodyguards, before she is violently shoved to the ground, her head narrowly missing the bonnet of a luxury vehicle parked nearby.

The DP and his entourage then carry on with their walk to his vehicle as the woman is helped up by fellow congregants.

”Ruto!Ruto!Ruto!” the crowd chants as all the drama unfolds.

In his address to the church before the incident, Ruto vowed to protect the institution from ill-meant policies, such as the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), which he said was aimed at preventing the growth of the church by blocking fundraiser donations by politicians.

Ruto is known as a generous giver to the church, and has in the past come under heavy criticism from his political counterparts, who question his source of wealth.

Ruto directly fingered ODM leader Raila Odinga as one of the politicians working tirelessly to bring the church down by imposing the BBI on Kenyans.

The DP was accompanied by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, alongside others.
