More Woes For Manchester City as Winger Heads to Real Madrid

Real Madrid are plotting a move for Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling after the English side was banned from UEFA Champions League football for the next two years.

City was on Friday slapped with a two-year ban by UEFA over financial fair-play rules breach and face point s deduction in the English Premier League as well if the Premier League decide to enforce Uefa’s ban.

Already there are rumors of key players and coach Pep Guardiola ditching the club if the Court of Arbitration of Sports does not reduce or lift the ban. City are expected to file an appeal at CAS as they feel the whole process was unfair.

Reports from Spain now indicate that Real Madrid are interested in Raheem Sterling and want to price him away in the summer. It is said that they will take advantage of UEFA’S ban to lure the England international to Madrid.

The Spanish giants were interested in signing Sterling in 2019 when Cristiano Ronaldo left the club but the move failed to materialize as City declined to sell the former Liverpool man who has grown to be a key player for the Citizens.

A number of key Manchester City players are said to be considering their futures at the club after the ban as most want to be involved in Champions League football. Bayern Munich are still looking at Leroy Sane while Barcelona may be interested in Kevin De Bruyne.

The Friday ban came after months of investigations by  UEFA into City’s spending.
