Itumbi Pens Emotional Message to Jowie After Release

Former State House employee Dennis Itumbi has penned an emotional message to Joseph Irungu alias Jowie minutes after his release.

Justice James Wakiaga granted Jowie bail after languishing in prison since 2018 when he was arrested and charged with the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

He has been released on a cash bail of Sh2 million and ordered him not to comment on the murder case, including on digital and mainstream media.

“There are no compelling reasons to deny the accused person bail term,” ruled Justice Wakiaga on Thursday.

The murder suspect has also been ordered to report to the chief every end month until the conclusion of the case.

Itumbi, who has been expressing support for Jowie since his arrest took to social media to welcome Jowie to the free world.

Itumbi noted that Jowie being granted bail was long overdue.

He noted that he was going to continue praying that justice is done for all, the late Monica, Jowie’s co-accused Jacque Maribe and Jowie himself.

“Welcome to the free world Jowie. Being granted bail was long overdue. We will continue praying that justice is done for all, the late Monica, Jacque and yourself,” tweeted Itumbi.

Last year, when Jowie was denied bail and forced to celebrate his second Christmas in prison, Itumbi took to social media again, praying that justice will one day prevail.

Justice Wakiaga had earlier own denied Jowie bail on grounds that he was a flight risk.
