Jubilee Secretary General, Raphael Tuju, was on Wednesday rushed to hospital after the vehicle he was travelling in, on his way to the burial ceremony of the late ex-president Mzee Daniel Moi, was involved in a horrific crash with a Matatu along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
Contrary to earlier reports, Tuju was not immediately airlifted to Nairobi for treatment, since medics who assessed his condition after the accident deemed him as unfit to fly.
The politician was reported to have sustained chest and abdominal injuries, although his condition has been stabilized.
Shortly after the crash, his family was airlifted to Kijabe from Wilson Airport.

Photos from the accident scene show the bonnet of Tuju’s vehicle completely wrecked, as well as a section of the public service vehicle that it collided head-on with.
No fatalities were reported from the accident, which occurred at Magini area.
Other dignitaries who made their way to Kabarak for Moi’s final funeral service include Deputy President William Ruto, his wife Rachel, and Chief Justice David Maraga, among a myriad of politicians.
President Uhuru Kenyatta was also in attendance.
