BBI Forums to Resume Tomorrow in Nairobi

The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rallies are set to start tomorrow just eight days after they were suspended following the death of former President Daniel Moi.

The BBI sensitization rallies will begin tomorrow February 13 in Nairobi after the last rally scheduled for Wote in Makueni County was called off.

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo communicated that the rally was postponed to a later date to allow Kenyans to mourn the demise of the late President Moi.

The same week of Moi’s death, Tangatanga faction of the Jubilee party had also planned a parallel BBI rally which was also postponed.

So far, the BBI rallies have been held in Kisii, Kakamega, Mombasa and Kitui Counties.

In their last rally in Kitui, drama ensued when Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria protested an attempted move to kick him out of the podium.

He would later return to take his seat at the podium where host Governor Charity Ngilu had shouted him down.

The BBI was initiated after President Kenyatta arrived at a truce with his erstwhile nemesis Raila Odinga on March 9, 2018.
