Powerful Bible Verses That Mzee Moi Cherished

The Late second president of Kenya, Mzee Daniel Moi’s most revered scripture was drawn from Galatians 2:20.

This is according to Moi’s long-time spiritual father, Bishop Silas Yego, of the AIC church.

”I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me,” reads the verse as per the NIV Bible version.

According to Bishop Yego, who also carried out the final religious rites for the late politician days to his death, Moi was a staunch Christian who respected and supported the church.

He revealed that to help the church mark its 100 years of existence, Moi donated a prime parcel of land in Nairobi, on which now stands the famous AIC Milimani Church.

He added that the former president shunned away from political talk in church, and always left his trademark Fimbo ya Nyayo in his car when attending services, and instead, carried his Bible into the church.

Curators at the National Museums of Kenya (NMK) also believe they have unearthed another one of the late Moi’s favorite bible verses.

According to Susan Wanjaria, a custodian of history at NMK, the late politician appears to have cherished a piece of scripture drawn from Genesis 28:17.

”And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!” the scripture, according to the New King James Version Bible, reads.

The team piecing together’s Moi’s memorable moments made this discovery from the Bible he owned at the time of his death, where they found a piece of paper written in his own handwriting.

”Step by step, step by step, I will follow Jesus. Every day all the way, I will follow Jesus,” reads an additional emotional commitment note, on the piece of paper written by the deceased leader.
