The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Thursday declared war on muggers who are based in the CBD.

This comes just a day after three members of a notorious gang that has been operating in the city were arrested.

The three were identified as Lenox Otieno, Godwin Irungu and Douglas Hezron.

“Our officers are on the lookout for any remnant of the said gang,” the DCI said in a statement.

The DCI further revealed that the operation to nab the three was conducted by officers based at Kamukunji and arraigned at Milimani Law Courts.

Cases of muggers causing chaos within the CBD have been on the increase in the recent past.

According to police records the muggers operate in various stalls along Ngara and Luthuli streets in Nairobi.
