P-Unit rapper, Gabu, is under fire after making an outrageous comment hours after former President Moi passed was declared dead.

Gabu was highlighted as one of the bold Kenyans who was real about what Kenyans deeply felt.

He has gone against the normal trend where people pour positive tributes when a prominent person dies.

As always, it was expected just like many did, that everyone would praise Moi after his death portraying him as a hero while in actual sense they felt otherwise.

Taking to his Instagram Gabu posted a story with a caption “Mwizi Amepumzika” which is lightly translated to the thief has died.

If Kenyans were asked to be honest about Moi’s regime, then many would agree with what Gabu wrote. Moi was loved and hated in equal measures.

He was often dismissed as a dictator by his critics and strongly accused for embezzlement of state funds.

Moi’s tenure has been criticised for the corruption that spread under his watch.

Many have recalled how his government set up torture chambers in the basement of Nyayo House (a government building in central Nairobi that now houses the immigration department).

Gabu wasn’t the only one who felt that Moi needed to say as it was, Kangema MP Muturi Kigano too joined in and claimed Mr Moi’s end of an era was a lesson to Kenyans on what can happen when people rebel against God.

Kenyans were not pleased with Gabu’s sentiments and were quick to share their thoughts. Below were some reactions:
