Renowned Tanzanian rapper Chidi Benz shocked fans after embarrassing former wasafi singer Harmonize during a live concert.
The artist had been invited as a guest musician to perform during the Jipooze festival which was organized by Harmonize. The event took place on 1 February in Mwembe Nyanga.
After his performance, Chidi Benz announced that he had only been paid 300000 Tanzanian shillings which is an equivalent of 13000 Kenyan shillings.
“Na nimepiga hii show kwa tsh 300000 tu kutoka kwa Rajab” he said
His statement was interpreted as a way of revealing that he was not content with the payment and was not happy with the agreement.
A few days before the performance, the rapper had called out the organizers for issuing posters indicating that he was in the line-up yet they had not settled on a mutual agreement at that point.
In response to this complaint, Harmonize revealed that they had sorted out the issue and even came to an agreement. Despite these complaints from the rapper, some sided with Harmonize saying that he did not make any profit because it was an entry free event.
Others even criticized the rapper stating that his performance was not worth it and he indeed got the pay he deserved. Amid these complaints, Konde Gang boss Harmonize is yet to issue a statement.
