SCREENSHOTS: Chilling Threats Issued to Tangatanga MP Before Uhuru’s Outburst

The plot around the brewing scuffle between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri thickened on Tuesday, after the defiant Tangatanga legislator published screenshots of threats issued towards him, shortly before the president’s rally in his constituency.

Taking to the podium during his stopover at Bahati, Uhuru reprimanded Ngunjiri over his continued derailing remarks on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), warning him to stay out of his business, and let him execute his plans for unity in the country.

After Uhuru’s angry rant, the legislator took to social media to share screengrabs of earlier conversations in a Bahati constituency forum, where he had been warned of tense moments that would ensue during the Tuesday rally.

In one of the messages, one Jimmy James had warned the MP of dire consequences, advising him to prepare for ”the bitter truth tomorrow.”

”Kimani Ngunjiri and your team, be warned tomorrow. The president must know how you treat Bahatians. Choices have consequences,” James wrote on Monday.

”It’s tomorrow or never,” he added.

While other forum members engaged in discourse on the unfulfilled promises issued to Bahati residents by the Jubilee government, as well as the plight of youth in the area, James continued threatening the legislator, promising him a tough day ahead.

”No mercy tomorrow. The bitter truth will be presented,” he asserted.

In his rejoinder to Uhuru’s outburst, Ngunjiri also revealed that county officials allied to the president had mobilized youth to heckle him, which is the main reason why he was a no-show at the meeting.
