Murkomen Tears Into ODM Senator Who revealed Embarrassing Moments in Waititu’s Impeachment

Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday tore into Narok Senator Ledama Olekina following his revelation regarding a Senate proceeding involving the impeachment of Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu.

Taking to Twitter to respond to the Senator’s assertions that apparently scolded a section of the Devolution watchdogs, Murkomen took a swipe at the senator for doing the very thing he was criticizing his colleagues on.

“This tweet was posted at 14:43 in the middle of a serious Senate hearing yet you were on social media chatting and tweeting,” tweeted Murkomen.

Murkomen’s reaction came hours before the Senator Ledama took to Twitter to slam some senators for taking the impeachment process lightly.

The Senator accused the Senators of making aimless movements withing the floor of the house at a time when the impeachment motion was still on course.

The exchange between the two leaders came at a time when Governor Waititu is fighting for his seat at the Assembly.

The Governor is accused of using his powers to subject Kiambu County into unmanageable debt as well using his position to award tenders and contracts to his relatives.

Prior to the hearing of the case at the Assembly, a number of Senators had sworn that they will send Waititu home.

Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura on Tuesday tweeted: “today is very important for Kiambu people who want to see justice for all the money that has been stolen from them. Senate is on trial and we want to know who are our true friends or enemies. Defend devolution stand with the truth. People are watching.”

Besides, Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata said that they were set to send Waititu home to serve as a lesson to other county chiefs who loot county resources.

“Our counties have been looted left, right and centre. At least one chief executive of a county needs to go home to send the right message. Senate needs to support HE efforts of fighting corruption. Tomorrow at the Senate’s proceedings for Kiambu County- maybe this is it!,” tweeted the Senator.

The Governor is set to know his fate on Wednesday.
