Raila’s Key Man Reveals Secret Plot Ruto-allies Hatched at Naivasha Meeting

ODM party Director of Communications Philip Etale on Tuesday made a damning allegation against leaders allied to Tanga Tanga political faction following their Naivasha declaration, on Monday.

Taking to social media to reveal an alleged plot by the MPs, Etale accused the leaders of planning to force President Uhuru Kenyatta to support William Ruto for the presidency.

The ODM official also accused leaders of planning to divide the country by causing unnecessary tension.

“Tangatanga guys have no love for the BBI. They are pretenders. According to one MP who attended their retreat at the GRVL, their aim is to hold the President at ransom, blackmail and squeeze him to the wall to give in to their demand which is to publicly declare support for their sponsor and handouts giver.

“Parallel BBI rallies are only meant to cause unnecessary tension and divide the country. Their hearts are not with the BBI,” wrote Etale on Facebook.

The revelation comes a day after the Tanga Tanga leaders announced that they will be holding parallel rallies to that of their competitors beginning on February 8.

The leaders said their rallies are not aimed at countering the already existing ones but to reinforce efforts aimed at sensitizing the public on the BBI course, as well as enhancing inclusivity.

Their pronouncements come as a shocker since they had pledged to join their rivals in their BBI rallies as a way of expressing their support for the course and also avoiding the creation of two separate camps.

Their first rally come at a time when the ODM leader, together with his allies, are planning to hold a BBI rally in Kitui County on the same day.

But even as the leaders met in the name of Jubilee Party Parliamentary Group (PG), the party’s Secretary-General Raphael Tuju dismissed their resolutions as party’s position adding the meeting was not the ruling party’s PG.

The SG noted that the party had no problems with such meeting since it’s was a way of exercising freedom of association as enshrined in the constitution.
