Miguna Miguna Makes Bold Pronouncement on Babu Owino’s Release on Bail

An embattled advocate of the High Court Miguna Miguna on Monday dismissed the release of MP Paul Ongili, alias Babu Owino, on Bail.

Taking to Twitter to air out his reservation on the decision by the court to set Babu free from jail, Miguna said the MP’s action to shoot Felix Orinda, alias DJ Evolve, at B-Club entertainment joint, in Kilimani, was intentional adding that he did not deserve to be set free.

“Hooligan Babu Owino should not be out on bail. We all saw him casually shoot DJEvolve in the neck more than once unprovoked with the clear intention to kill and continued to take drugs.

“This thug should be sent to jail for at least 50 years. Kenyans want justice. Not BBI Nonsense,2 tweeted Miguna.

Miguna’s remarks came after a Milimani Criminal Court released Babu on Ksh10 million bail.

Babu was required to settle Ksh2.5 million bond and pay Ksh600,00 cash bail first before being released.

The Ksh10 million will be used to settle DJ Evolve’s medical expenses and the remaining amount will be deposited in court pending the determination of the case.

The court also directed Babu not to indulge himself in any form of alcoholic drinks or narcotics in any public establishments during the entire period of the case.

The MP was also directed to deposit his passport and travel documents with the court and was barred from commenting on the case in any forum either in the media or public gathering.

Babu was arrested on Friday 17th January, after he was accused of shooting the DJ over what was reported as a result of a confrontation that ensued after the DJ teased the MP about a lady who was in his company.

Alleged Video footage of the incident showed Babu holding a gun and shooting it towards a person believed to be DJ Evolve.

The incident has since left the victim fighting for his life at Nairobi Hospital.
