KPL: Draw Leaves Tusker’s Dream Faltering As Ochan Impresses For Leopards

The Kenya Premier League took center stage over the weekend with all teams in action. Below are the main talking points from the action.

Benjamin Ochan Proving The Difference For AFC Leopards

Mark Makwatta has grabbed the headlines for AFC Leopards this season due to his prolific goalscoring but Benjamin Ochan also deserves lots of credit.

The goalkeeper has kept 11 clean sheets in sixteen outings for Ingwe which is the highest in the league. He made some vital saves as Leopards beat Kisumu All-Stars 2-0 in Kisumu. He is a man in the form of his life and Leopards are the beneficiaries of that.

Wazito And Sharks Staring At Relegation

Wazito has lost seven league matches in a row with the latest being a 3-0 reverse at the hands of Posta Rangers on Saturday. With three coaches so far this season, Wazito is yet to find a winning formula and sits just three points above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Kariobangi Sharks are also in danger of going down having won just two league matches this season and lost 2-1 despite being at home to Kakamega Homeboyz on Saturday.

Draw Leaves Tusker With Too Much To Do

Ahead of their match with Ulinzi Stars, Tusker was top of the table and needed a win to maintain that position. However, the Brewers needed a penalty goal from Timothy Otieno to rescue a point from the Soldiers.

They now lie in third on the table, level on points with the defending Champions who have two matches in hand. It feels like the title dream is being snatched away from Tusker FC.

Tough Luck For Twahir Muhidin

It is never easy facing Gor Mahia away and that turned out to be the case for Twahir Muhidin. The newly instated Bandari FC head coach saw his team lose 3-0 in a meek display that saw them conceded a goal from the Gor Mahia goalkeeper David Mapigano.
