He sarcastically added that the Head of State was married to Margaret Kenyatta and he was in a matrimonial union with Rachel Ruto.

“Uhuru is married to Margaret, I am married to Rachel,” remarked the Deputy President.

Ruto, who seemed caught off guard with the posed question, asserted that he was aware of such speculations and rumours being propagated about the matter.

“I have heard many stories and I have read many headlines. There is no marriage in business here.

“We were elected by the people of Kenya to do a job,” articulated the Jubilee party leader.

Sensing the heat had been turned up, DP Ruto advised the news anchor on the specific question he should be asking him.

“What you should be asking me is are you delivering on the job I was tasked by Kenyans?” Ruto expressed.

The once URP leader, also pointed out that he had been the most loyal person to the President ever since they started the journey together.

“If there is anyone who has shown loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta, it is me,” stated the second in command.

The DP disclosed that the ruling party had issues that could not be hidden from the public anymore.

He highlighted that the wrangles within the organisation had led to the emergence of two factions and the situation needed to be discussed.

“The Jubilee Party has issues. We now have camps calling themselves Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke.

“We cannot pretend that these issues are there and they need to be addressed,” uttered Ruto.

When questioned about who will be the party’s flagbearer come 2022, the vocal politician pronounced that the issue was not of importance to Jubilee at the moment.

“There is time for succession, the opportunity will come and we will deal with it,” professed the DP.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto during the past campaigns

Ruto reiterated that he chose to support Uhuru because he wanted to and not in order to have the favour returned.

“I supported President Kenyatta not because I wanted him to support me thereafter. I never gave him a condition and I never made a claim,” explained the DP.

He added, “One thing that I know about him is that he is going to support a Jubilee Party candidate when the time comes.”

The big question after the reveal is will Uhuru be bold enough and face the country once and for all and explain his bad blood with Ruto?
