Three Areas That Require Immediate Attention At Manchester United

Manchester United lost at home to Burnley in midweek. It was the third loss in the last five matches in all competitions. Though a top-four finish is still on the cards for the Red Devils, it does feel like a few changes will need to be made for the team to move forward.

Below are three key issues that need to be addressed at the club.

Find Cover For Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford has been Manchester United’s best player this season. The English forward has scored 14 goals in the league and five more in the cup games.

However, he is injured for close to two months and Manchester United will need to find someone who can score in his absence. Whether that means starting 18 years old Mason Greenwood or diving into the market, this is an issue that needs immediate attention.

Add Creativity From Midfield

One of the main problems that are at Manchester United has been the lack of spark from the middle of the pitch. Nemanja Matic is a defensive midfielder by nature while Fred is not as creative as many would have hoped from a Brazilian.

Paul Pogba is injured while Juan Mata is capable of producing more but the Spaniard is in September of his career. It leaves the club with a void to fill, failure to which the bad times will continue.

Better Players recruitment

Manchester United do not have a Technical Director. This is simply puzzling as a club of such stature surely needs one. As a result, the recruitment process for players has been shoddy and largely produces players who are below standard.

The lack of someone to blame for the mess increases the frustrations for the fans and it is a scenario that will get ugly soon should the hierarchy fail to address it.
