Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday came under rabid criticism from netizens on social media after video footage of him talking BBI politics at a primary school pupils in Embakasi West constituency went viral online.
In the footage shared by ODM party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, DP Ruto was recorded slamming a top politician believed to be Raila Odinga over Mombasa BBI meeting that his allies announced they will attend.
Ruto, whose speech was in all appearances directed to Raila, was seemingly responding to the ODM leader who had before said the Tanga Tanga leaders were free to attend the BBI consultative meeting in Mombasa.
The response came two days after the Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, who was in the company of leaders allied to DP Ruto, announced that they will be a party to each meeting organized in the name of BBI deliberations beginning with the Mombasa one.
Their declarations came after the Kieleweke political faction of Jubilee party together with leaders allied to ODM party organized two BBI meetings on Kisii and Kakamega.
The two meetings were a subject of criticism from leaders allied to DP Ruto who accused their competitors of using public funds to reinvent Raila’s dwindling political fortunes.
Their decision to join the BBI meeting came as a shocker to many but according to them, they were after enhancing inclusivity and development in the country.
Majority of the online audience who reacted to DP Ruto’s remarks slammed him saying he was misguided to address political differences before primary school kids.

“Being confused generally doesn’t mean you don’t know what you doing but also @ what place kids need education, not chicken politics,” tweeted Austine Odhiambo.
Another twitter user identified as Finary Kithinji said: “This guy is becoming unbecoming now! He is going to distract learners whose parents have paid fees through thick and thin, pouring his anger unto them!”
According to Gideon Sifuna, the DP “went to complain to the kids on how he had been illusionary locked out of BBI. When #Rutospeaks many things go wrong. So sad that he’s losing cool and objectivity. Ruto didn’t study his audience. Overdose!”
Here is how other Kenyans reacted:
he was not talking to the kids but the teachers and the parents who had come plus the media people were there so in short, the DP was addressing the country and the sore losser @railaodinga and his troops.

A continuing smear campaign against the Deputy President. Part of the wide scheme of subtle methods of suppression, control and vanquishing. Some will be fooled but not all.
