7 Hottest Issues Kenyans Want DP Ruto to Address in Highly Anticipated TV Interview

Anticipation is rife among Kenyans as Deputy President William Ruto makes his first exclusive TV appearance tonight (Thursday) on NTV.

The deputy head of state has maintained a deafening media silence since 2019, when news of his fallout with President Uhuru Kenyatta emerged, following ODM leader Raila Odinga’s thunderous entry into Uhuru’s inner circle.

At a time when the only conversation dominating the Kenyan media space is Uhuru and Raila’s Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), Ruto’s supporters tuning in to the Ken Mijungu-hosted segment at 9 PM will be looking forward to the DP finally issuing a way forward on the BBI issue.

Since the launch of the BBI report in 2019, Ruto and his camp have expressed softening stances on the acceptability of the initiative, leaving their supporters in confusion as to whether to jump onto Raila’s BBI bandwagon or to continue opposing the movement.

The increased friction between Uhuru and Ruto is also a pertinent topic of interest among Kenyans, who want to hear the latter’s side of the story.

Following Ruto’s team Tangatanga‘s Tuesday revelation that they would start supporting the planned BBI consultative forums across the country, the DP’s supporters, and critics, are also keen on finding out whether he will attend some of the planned rallies, in his camp’s newly-found collaborative spirit.

Amid growing concern that the government has officially gone rogue, with the recent Miguna Miguna frustrations while attempting to get back to Kenya after two years in deportation, a section of Kenyans also want the second in command to elaborate on why the state appears to be undermining the judiciary, and the role he played in the whole scuffle.

Others want the DP to delve into the contents of the BBI report and Jubilee’s plans for the future.

Kenyans have also requested the DP to address the issue of his Tangatanga brigade undermining Uhuru’s administration, yet most of them belong to the ruling Jubilee Party.

Further, citizens want the deputy president to address the endless accusations of corruption levelled against him, especially land grabbing scandals.
