The 4-3-3 Formation That Arsenal Should Play Against Chelsea On Tuesday

Arsenal face Chelsea in a must-win Londo derby at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. The Gunners have won just one Premier League match under new boss Mikel Arteta.

It feels like the new boss needs to make a few changes to his line up in order to change the results. Below we look at how the could line up.

Defence

Bernd Leno in goal is a no-brainer. The German has been arguably Arsenals player of the season and has kept them in games on more occasions than any other player.

At right-back, Ainsley Maitland Niles should continue in the absence of Hector Bellerin while Bukayo Saka also deputizes for the injured Sead Kolasinac at left-back.

The center-back pairing should see David Luiz partner Sokratis.

This is where Mikel Arteta needs to make much-needed changes. With Mesut Ozil struggling for form this season having scored no goals so far, now feels like the time to drop him and try something else.

The double Pivot of Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira works very well defensively and keeps the ball ticking but lacks a goal treat as none of the two makes runs into the box.

It is why Mikel Arteta needs to start the two and add Joe Willock as the third midfielder. The young Englishman excels at making late runs into the box like Aron Ramsey used to and that makes the team very hard to defend against.

Nicholas Pepe and Gabriele Martinelli are obvious picks on the right and left-wing respectively. With Pierre Aubameyang out with a suspension and Alexandre Lacazette without a shot on target in the last five league matches, Arteta needs to make an unpopular decision in the striking role.

Eddie Nketiah looked lively in his short cameo against Sheffield United and the young academy graduate deserves to start ahead of Lacazette.

Starting XI 4-3-3: Leno, Niles, Saka, Luiz, Sokratis, Xhaka, Torreira, Willock, Pepe, Martinelli, Nketiah.
