Moses Kuria Makes Major Announcement Ahead of BBI Meeting in Mombasa

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has revealed that he will be heading to Mombasa County for the third BBI meeting in the coastal region.

Speaking on Monday while addressing members of the press inside parliament buildings, the controversial MP stated that he is supporting the initiative and will be on his way to Mombasa’s meeting come Saturday, January 25.

The legislator, who has been deemed as one of Deputy President William Ruto’s adamant supporter, took swipes at President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga, saying the two should stop sideshows and involve all the leaders in campaigns to popularize the initiative.

Kuria noted with concerns that members of the tanga-tanga side of the Jubilee government had been sidelined in all preparations yet they were fully behind the BBI.

“I hear they are in Mombasa this week, I will be there. Let the president and Raila stop the sideshows because everybody is supporting the BBI,” stated Kuria.

The vocal MP also directed his blazing guns to Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru over her recent statements in Kakamega.

According to Kuria, it was wrong for the governor to state that they had elected the BBI secretariat without necessarily involving all leaders from across the country.

He urged the team to convene a meeting involving all leaders from the country where they will form a joined secretariat, which he said will enable all the leaders to work together in steering the BBI ahead.

Recently, while appearing for an interview with Saturday Nation, the MP accused a group of ‘clueless’ people around President Kenyatta for his bad relationship with the head of state.

I have no personal differences with President Kenyatta. Since the 2007 elections, we have worked very closely and very well. The problem lies with some of the clueless people surrounding him,” he stated.

Kuria added that he was so sure that when the President will sit down with Jubilee leaders in a Parliamentary Group, he will easily convince them of his BBI position and ensure that the party achieve a national consensus to move the nation forward.

“The President should take this historic opportunity to bring his house together and avoid the temptation of fighting with his own child,” added Kuria.
