Mikel Arteta Claims Chelsea Match Is A Must Win For Struggling Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has labeled their match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as a must-win. Arsenal has won just one Premier League match sinceArteta was appointed as the head coach.

The Gunners are 10 points behind Chelsea in fourth and a loss would leave them with too much to do in terms of earning qualification into the Champions League next season.

“It’s really important. It’s very, very important for us to win this game to fight for the top four. Also, the game we played at home, it could have made a big difference and we were very close to it. Tomorrow we need to win,” he said.

The Spaniard also revealed that there is a chance that Eddie Nketiah could start after the youngster featured in the final minute against Sheffield United on Saturday.

“Well, it will depend on the circumstances: the players we have available, his performance, the way he trains, the impact that he makes every time he plays. He’s a young player but I have to treat him exactly the same as the other ones. I put him on the pitch because I think he deserved it, the way he trained, the way he’s showing every day how much he wants it and it will depend on him,” he added when asked on Nketiah.

Nketiah was recalled from his loan spell at Leeds United after Arsenal grew increasingly concerned with his lack of game time.
