Nairobi Hospital has found itself in trouble after a patient who was being moved from Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to HDU got stuck in a lift for 1 hour and 15 mins.
The administration of the hospital was not able to respond to the emergency in good time.
An immediate solution to the situation was not also found.
Following the incident, Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki has directed the Kenya Medical and Dentist Council (KMDC) to immediately investigate the matter and report to her after two days.
CS Kariuki further directed the hospital management to ensure patients at the facility are not exposed to similar situations in the future.

The matter had earlier been raised by renown controversial blogger Robert Alai who faced criticism from Kenyans after raising the issue.
“Nairobi Hospital patients who were being transferred from ICU to HDU have been stuck in the hospital’s lift for the last one hour or so. Management and security not helping much. The CEO, Mr. Chris Abeid, is not picking up his calls,” he posted.
