A Twitter user believed to be DJ Evolve’s close friend has spoken following the shooting incident that happened at B Club.
The man identified as Brian gave his statement after his friend Evolve was shot by Babu Owino on Friday morning.
Although some media reports have revealed that the popular DJ had an argument with the MP before getting shot, Brian disclosed that Evolve has always avoided getting into fights.
“I have never seen evolve in a fight and he actually avoids them from past experiences. He didn’t deserve to be shot in the neck. Or anywhere for that matter. Babu is just out of control” he wrote.
He also expressed doubt over speculations that his friend was involved in illegal dealings adding that the MP should face the law over his actions.
“He is just a dj. Sasa ni deals gani mtafanya watu wakitoka club 7 am wakiwa walevi…What happened is babu shot my friend in the neck. Babu has to face the full extent of the law” he said
Although Evolve is currently in hospital after the gunshot injury, the Embakasi East MP issued a statement saying that his enemies made an attempt to kill him.
“A few weeks ago, I made a public statement regarding threats that I had been receiving against my life.
“While enjoying the company of my friends at a popular Nairobi restaurant, I was surrounded by a large group of aggressive individuals. In the melee, there was an exchange of gunfire” reads Babu Owino’s statement in part
Following this incident, detectives based at Kilimani today arrested Babu Owino and have confirmed the launch of an investigation into the matter.
