The defensive midfielder has been on fine form for the reigning league champions this campaign putting in a good shift for the Steven Pollack side despite the financial struggles the team has been facing.

He has now ended his stay with Gor Mahia by signing for the newly formed US side Union Omaha. The club recruited 13 players on Tuesday.

“Tobias Otieno joins us from Gor Mahia FC. He was one of the youngest starters in the Kenya Premier League in 2019 and is also a member of the U-23 national team,” the club announced.

On his part, the workaholic midfielder said he is looking forward to linking up with his new teammates and thanked the club for signing him.

“I would love to thank Union Omaha fraternity for the big step they’ve made in my signing. Big thanks and can’t wait to join you guys for a great season,” he stated.

He becomes the third key player to quit Gor Mahia this window. The others are Ivorian striker Yikpe Gnamien and Ghanain Francis Afriyie.
