Ruto is Not Uhuru’s Employee, Tangatanga Senator Declares

Deputy President William Ruto allies have continued with their onslaught against the deputy head of state critics, as the political situation in the country boils over just two weeks into the new year.

On Monday, Ruto’s close ally, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipcchumba Murkomen, trained his guns at nominated MP Maina Kamanda and Muranga Woman Representative Sabina Chege, as well as the Orange Democractic Movement (ODM), over their incessant calls to the Tangatanga faction to accord President Uhuru Kenyatta his deserved respect.

Kamanda had earlier on Monday alleged that Ruto has been paying off Central Kenya musicians to compose derogatory pieces against Uhuru, saying that the DP’s payment for a single song amounts to Ksh5 million.

Kamanda made the allegations during a press address held jointly with a section of ODM leaders and the female Murang’a MP.

In his Monday rejoinder, Murkomen reminded the Kieleweke team that Ruto is not employed by Uhuru, rather, by the Kenyan electorate.

”To ODM+Sabina Kamanda:Our response is thus: The Deputy President is not an employee of the President. They willingly came together, jointly employed by the people of Kenya,” Murkomen stated in a Twitter rant.

He went ahead to call out the President Kenyatta allies on double standards on their calls for respect for the head of state.

During the presser, Kamanda had demanded that Ruto, on virtue of being elected as Uhuru’s deputy, ought to honour the Jubilee Party leader.

He was referring to past instances where the DP publicly opposed Uhuru, especially on matters Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

”The respect you are demanding for the President is the same respect the President is demanding for his Deputy,” the senator retorted.
