KPL: Ulinzi Piles More Misery On Wazito, Tusker Top As Mathare Falls To Stima

Tusker FC went top of the Kenya Premier League table following a comfortable 2-0 victory over newbies Kisumu All-Stars at the Ruaraka Stadium in Nairobi.

Jackson Macharia gave the brewers the lead in the 18th minute before inform striker Timothy Otieno doubled the score in the second half. Tusker is now top of the table with 34 points.

Kakamega Homeboyz continued with their impressive form this season after edging out Zoo Kericho 1-0 at the Kericho Green Stadium. Zoo had proved to be stubborn but Kakamega Homeboyz broke through in the final minute of time added on in the second half.

Elsewhere, there was still no win for Wazito FC who were beaten by a solitary goal for the second match running. Oscar Wamalwa got the all-important goal for Ulinzi Stars at the Afraha just a minute before half time. The loss leaves Wazito with only two wins this season and is just three points above the relegation zone.

Chemelil got the result of the matchday when they beat Nzoia Sugar 1-0 to record their first three points of the season. For Nzoia, it is now five straight losses in the league.

Meanwhile, Western Stima came from behind to beat Mathare United 2-1 in Kisumu. Mathare United went ahead in the 7th minute but Stima equalized minutes before the break and got the winner on the hour mark.

In an earlier match, Zedekiah Otieno’s KCB beat Sofapaka 2-1 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
