KTN TV host Tony Gachoka has mounted pressure on President Uhuru Kenyatta over his handling of embattled lawyer Miguna Miguna.
In a tweet Tuesday evening, Gachoka called on President Kenyatta stating that the handling of Miguna’s return was causing ‘apprehension and disappointment’ and that the matter was being handled ‘poorly without humanity or decorum.’
Uhuru @StateHouseKenya Monica @Diplomacy_Kenya this issue of #MIGUNAMIGUNA is causing apprehension & disappointment. Its being handled poorly without humanity or decorum. This comes after President Kenyatta alluded to allowing back Miguna Miguna back to the country after an unceremonial deportation to Canada in 2017.
While the Government had sent out a communique to newsrooms stating they would facilitate Miguna’s return into the country, the lawyer would be denied entry into a Lufthansa plane en-route Nairobi.
The airline communicated that Miguna was barred from travelling to Nairobi on the orders of the office of the President.
However, Government spokesman Col Cyrus Oguna would later dismiss the statements by the airline, stating that the Government had not turned back on its decision to facilitate Miguna Miguna’s re-entry into Kenya.
