For decades, ODM party leader has dominated the Kenyan politics as an immovable force who has stood the test of time and gone through many storms that any conventional politician won’t imagine sailing through.
For that reason, Raila, who celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, received best regards from various people including Statehouse Digital Secretary Dennis Itumbi.
According to Itumbi, in his birthday message indicated that nothing can paint a better picture of who Raila is other than a diamond, yes a fine diamond.
“Happy Birthday Baba @RailaOdinga – 75 years is Diamond. Yours is a fine diamond, it has been through, handcuffs, a failed Coup, disguised escapes, torture, political losses and wins, stones, Teargas, Power and all that appertains being a diamond! Hope to read your memoirs someday!” tweeted Itumbi.
Itumbi’s regards mirrored the life of the ODM leader from the liberation struggle, where he was detained for fighting for multiparty democracy, to his four unsuccessfully bid for the presidential seat.
In his message, Raila wrote on his social media accounts; “on this day, I thank God for the gift of life thus far. Wishing greater things to our country and our people.”
Mombasa Governor and ODM Deputy Party Leader Hassan Joho also shared his regards on social media and wished his boss the best in his endeavours.
“To my Party leader and mentor Rt. Hon. @RailaOdinga, a happy birthday. May the Almighty God give you long life and wisdom to continue leading the democratization of our Nation,” he tweeted.
Also, the ODM party tweeted; “We wish you plenty of joy today and every day of the coming year! You are a fantastic example of wisdom, leadership, and foresight. On your birthday, we wish you peace, good health, and happiness. You are the best mentor anyone could have asked for #HappyBirthdayBaba.”
