Foreign Affairs Ministry to Rescue Miguna From Red Alert

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is set to handle the red alert baring Lawyer Miguna Miguna from travelling into the country.

Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna on Tuesday morning stated that Miguna is welcome into the country as by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive; hence the state department will ensure the success of his trip.

Miguna’s trip to his motherland was cut short on Tuesday morning after he was blocked from boarding a plane at the Frankfurt Airport in Germany.

His trip could not proceed as planned because of a red alert issued against him at the airport that barred him from travelling to Kenya and other African countries.

According to Miguna, the German officials told him that the Kenyan Government had cautioned them from allowing him to fly to the said destinations.

The lawyer’s plans to jet in the country on January 7, 9.25 PM got a major boost when the government, through the Department of Immigration, confirmed that they will facilitate his return.

This was in adherence to a court order that was issued to them on December 14, 2018.

Another court order, issued on January 6, 2020, upheld the same ruling ordering the government not to interfere with the return of the lawyer.

Before the court orders, the Government Spokesman had hinted that the state would not interfere with the General’s return.

The long-awaited return of Miguna comes two years after he was forcefully deported to Canada on February 7, 2018.

Canada has since then been the home of the self-declared general, from a distance he has been actively participating in democratic issues in his motherland.
