Itumbi in Trouble Over Controversial Ruto Tweet

State House Digital Secretary Dennis Itumbi is about to close the year with an egg on his face, after Kenyans on Twitter Saturday accused him of being behind a scathing tweet against ODM leader Raila Odinga.

In the Friday night tweet sent out from Deputy President William Ruto’s Twitter account, the DP had accused the former Prime Minister of indecency and disrespect to Kenyans for asking them to exercise patience over the implementation of the BBI report.

“Boss, the last time I checked Kenya was the collective business of the 47m of us. When did it become yours, for the rest of us to be patient with you, as you decide what is good for us!” Ruto wondered out loud.

“Please, a little decency & respect is not much to ask of you ndugu,” he added.

However, KOT believes that the infamous Itumbi was the one who sent out the tweet which according to them, did not ‘sound’ like a statement Ruto would write.

Some advised Ruto to demote Itumbi from managing his social media handles since he is a publicity disaster in waiting.

Nevertheless, there were a few who were of the opinion that as long as the message got home, there was no need to probe the identity of the messenger.

In July, Itumbi found himself as a guest of the state after he was arrested for allegedly faking an assassination plot against Ruto.

Do you think the Deputy President was behind the tweet that has lit up social media, or was it Itumbi, as usual?
