The agent to Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has confirmed that the player has an offer from Hertha Berlin and has asked the club to allow him to leave in the January transfer window.
Xhaka has been at loggerheads with the Arsenal fans following his actions in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace two months ago. The midfielder insulted the fans with unprintable words and ha since been stripped off his captaincy.
His agent has confirmed that a deal has already been agreed with the German club and that has been communicated with the Arsenal hierarchy.
“We’ve reached an agreement with Hertha BSC and would like to go to Berlin. We have told Raul Sanllehi and sporting director, Edu Gaspar, that he wants to leave the club,” his agent said.
It is however understood that new Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is not ready to let him leave in January and has told him he will grant him his wish in the summer transfer window.
Xhaka joined Arsenal in 2016 and has been a key player for the first team. Should the player leave in January, it would leave the Gunners short in central midfield with only Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, and Dani Ceballos.
