Tottenham Midfielder Set to Snub Manchester United

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen will reportedly snub a January move to Manchester United as he awaits Real Madrid to make a move in the summer.

The Danish midfielder will be out of contract in the summer and has declined to sign a new deal with the North Londoners. He has been linked with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus with all the clubs keen on getting him on the Bosman.

United, however, were keen on getting him for 20 million pounds an offer Spurs would have accepted as they risk losing him for free if he does not change his mind over leaving the club once his contract expires.

Reports in the UK, however, indicate that the former Ajax Amsterdam man is not keen on moving to Old Trafford and will wait until the summer to see if Zinedine Zidane will table an offer for his services. The midfielder has in the past spoken of his desire to play for the record European champions.

New Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho has also made it clear that he wants the player to sign a new deal. He will be hoping to convince the player to remain in north London between now and May.

Spurs were recently boosted when Toby Alderweireld penned down a new deal with the club. The Belgian’s contract was set to expire in June and had been linked with a move to Manchester United as well.
