The father has since reported the issue to Kilimani Police while waiting for Glovo to respond. Tagging the DCI in his complain, he said Glovo Kenya has no way of verifying ages of anyone who orders alcohol and they only care to make a sale.

Mugo urged the authorities to stop them from selling alcohol until they can show they can verify age.

Let’s not confuse the point here. My daughter and her friends were wrong. I am dealing with that now. BUT the point of this conversation is about an adult selling alcohol to kids. I said, delivery companies like Glovo should figure out ID mechanisms,”stated Mugo.

“Prns like throwing blames am a teacher who believes in good morals when you bring up your tell them they will get a phone at the age of 18 not with your ID prnt now you want #glovo to train your kids ……if indeed the kid ordered parent take the bitter pill your not doing good”.-Edwin Nyaosi.

“IDs are given to people over 18 years. That’s what@Glovo ES assumes when selling alcohol to a phone #, which is registered with a valid ID. So, when you bought the extra line, registered under your name, & gave to your kids, you should’ve seen the bigger picture”.Gen Edwin Waithaka

“Both the parents and Glovo need to take blame for this. The parents, majorly, for irresponsible parenthood and not keeping their children in check. Meanwhile, Glovo should understand that in an era of the Internet, they need foolproof mechanisms to avoid teens ordering drugs”.-Tracy Tyler.

Controversial City lawyer Donald B Kipkorir also commented comparing the situation to excusing pedophiles.

“Glovo Kenya were on the way to deliver alcohol to teenagers … Instead of Kenyans calling out Glovo for breaking the law, they berate my a parent for bad parenting … There is no equivalence btw criminality by Glovo & lapses of a parent .. It’s like excusing pedophiles,” said Kipkorir.
