Residents of Korogocho are yet to absorb an incident where a Police officer was shot dead by his colleagues before claiming he died from mob justice.
The officer Hussein Hula an officer attached to Kariobangi Police Station sustained multiple gunshots inflicted on him by at least three officers.
The officers have since claimed that Hula was killed by a stray bullet as they conducted an operation in Korocho to flush out criminals from the slum.
Residents of the area engaged police in running battles for the better part of the day in what they claimed was target execution of police officers with Somali-origins.
Earlier reports had it that the deceased police officer had been attacked by an angry mob after he arrested a suspected criminal in Korogocho.
However, officer Hula was found with bullet wounds as opposed to stone injuries that were widely circulated to be the course of his demise.
Police transferred his body to City mortuary after managing to push back irate residents who demanded more answers before the police officer’s body could be taken away.
