While some pupils were committing suicide for posting poor results in the 2019 KCPE, Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has celebrated six others who attained less than 200 marks but are headed to University.
On the orders of President Kenyatta, CS Magoha celebrated these students who went against the grain to put a smile back on their faces despite an underwhelming performance four years back.
- KINYUA MILAN WANJIRU
Starting off with a paltry 179 marks in KCPE, Kinyua managed to be in the list officially announced by CS Magoha after he scored a B(-) at Gathara Secondary School .
He is eligible for direct entry into a Kenyan University.
2. MUNYOKI MWIKALI
Managing as little as 199 marks in KCPE, Mwikali made it to Magoha’s list of the impressive performers of 2019 KCSE exams after scoring a B(-) from little-known Mama Malia secondary school.
3. SHARON CHEPKOECH
Studying at Saire Secondary School, Sharon Chepkoech beat the odds of being associated with the worst performers of KCPE to earn a direct entry into University.
Sharon had 183 marks in KCPE but now has a C+ in KCSE.
4. MBUGUA MACHARIA
Having garnered below 200 marks in KCPE, Mbugua has managed to seal a spot for himself at a Public University after he got a C+.
He was a student at Kiambaa Mixed Secondary School.
5. JOSEPH MWANGI
Mwangi made it to President Kenyatta’s list of honour after he magically rose from 193 marks in KCPE to secure a spot in University.
The former Mukui Secondary School student now has a C+.
6. TIMOTHY MURETI
Closing the most improved students’ list is Timothy who scored 194 marks out of 500 in KCPE but managed a C+ from Kirindara Secondary school.
