Ruto Traces his Roots with a Mega Event at Kambi Kuku

If Deputy President (DP) William Ruto was to borrow a phrase that will reflect his own life from a military field then it will be no other than; once a soldier, always a soldier.

The once chicken trader, despite rising ranks to be Kenya’s second in command, has never forgotten his roots nor shied away from acknowledging his past at Kambi Kuku in Uasin Gishu County.

The number of times the DP has toured the chicken market, where he used to eke out a living as a chicken seller, is uncountable.

Perhaps for the love of his origin, Ruto will on Thursday lead a chicken auction event at the said market.

Confirming the event Statehouse Digital Secretary Dennis Itumbi tweeted; “On Thursday, we go back to the beginning, where the Hustler’s journey began. Kambi ya Kuku, Uasin Gishu County.”

The chicken business is what led to the DP being referred to as a Hustler, a term he uses to simplify his humble upbringing.

The DP also launched the chicken auction in the same region in April 2018.

Even after joining politics, the DP continued with his passion for chicken with his wife taking charge of their farm at his Sugoi home.

The DP rears millions of chickens at his firm both for eggs and meat.
