Robin Van Persie II! Man United Youngster Hailed After Europa League Brace

Fans across the world have taken to social media to heap praise on Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood after his brace against AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening at Old Trafford.

The England U21 forward took his tally for the season to six with two second-half left-foot strikes.

United went on to register a 4-0 win after running riot in the second half. The first stanza had ended barren and the Dutch side had hoped of picking at least a point from the clash.
Ashley Young opened the scoring in the 53rd minute and five minutes later, Greenwood got the first of his two. James Garner intercepted the ball outside the Alkmaar area and the youngster capitalized on it with a one-touch finish. He the first won a penalty which Juan Mata converted in the 62nd minute.

Two minutes later, Mata returned the favor by setting up the youngster for his second. He cut in from the right before beating AZ keeper at the near post with another low strike to ensure United top the group.
His good performance earned him plaudits with some fans comparing him to former United strikers Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney.
