Police have arrested two Sonko allies believed to be planning a violent confrontation with police even as the Nairobi Governor is set to appear before Court Wednesday.
EALA Member of Parliament Simon Mbugua and Nairobi County Chief of Staff Mr Peter Mugo were arrested after police observed their suspicious movements.
The duo is suspected to have organized a group of youth to accompany Governor Sonko to Milimani law courts where he pleaded not guilty to charges of corruption.
Appearing before Magistrate Douglas Ogoti on Monday, December 9, Governor Sonko and 10 other suspects had their charges read for them even as a heavy contingent of police officers surrounded the court’s precincts.
