FKF President Nick Mwendwa has promised to abide by the Sports Disputes Tribunal ruling which nullified the FKF County Elections held on November 23, 2019.
In a petition filed at the sports disputes resolution body, the FKF Electoral Board was further directed to call off the national elections that were to be held on December 7, 2019.
The FKF boss noted that the Federation will abide by the ruling as much as he doesn’t agree with it.
“We as the National Executive Committee and football stakeholders at large met and though we respect the SDT and its decisions, we do not agree with the ruling,” said FKF President, Nick Mwendwa
“We have made amends to the code, and shall release it today to all our 20 branches for Member participation,” he continued.
“The code will come back to us on January 8, 2020. We shall then hold a Special General Meeting to pass the code and board which will henceforth be mandated with calling for fresh elections,” he continued.
In its ruling, the Sports Disputes Tribunal cited insufficient member participation and improper composition of the electoral board.
The FKF President, meanwhile, noted that football activities were nonetheless going on regardless of the court cases leveled against the Federation.
