Players To Watch As Kariobangi Sharks Host Tusker on Friday

The Kenya Premier League resumes this Friday with a lunchtime kick-off pitting Kariobangi Sharks against Tusker at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.

Below are the players who could be the difference between a win and a loss for each team.

Humphrey Mieno

The Tusker midfielder has everything a player needs to survive in the Kenya Premier League. He is technically superb, can pass the ball both long and short and has an eye for goal plus bags of experience.

He has won the league with two different clubs, Tusker and Gor Mahia. Interestingly, he scored in his last match against Bandari United last week.

Jackson Macharia

The former Thika United midfielder has been a mainstay for Tusker three years running. Macharia combines his talents with incredible wok rate that makes it hard for Robert Matano to drop him.

He is not prolific in front of goal but sets up a very good base for the more creative players to thrive.

Patilla Omoto

He is the current Kariobangi Sharks assistant captain and one of the leaders to this team. Ahead of the match, he had sent a rallying cry to his fellow players.

“Great players also show their other side in times like this. I believe we have mentally strong players and now is the time to show that. The time to fight for this badge. We will keep pushing hard,” He said.

Duke Abuya

The striker is Sharks’ highest scorer this season with three goals one of which came in the loss to KCB last weekend. He is pacy, good with both feet and with a thunderous shot on him.

The Tusker FC backline will need to be at their very best to keep out Abuya.
