A calorie is a unit of measurement which does not measure weight or length. It is also a unit of energy that is derived from the food and drinks consumed.

If you eat too many calories, you gain more weight which can lead to chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity or organ failures. Every woman needs to eat about 2000 calories per day and 1500 calories to lose one pound of weight per week. An average man needs 2500 calorie and 2000 to lose one pound of weight per week.

1. Any dairy product. 

They include; cheese, custard, ice cream, butter, yoghurt and the list is endless. Most of these dairy foods have high calories and it is easy to add weight from it. Here is the total amount of calories in the common dairy products;  light whipping cream(350 calories ), whole milk(298 calories ), high-fat milk( 312 calories), low-fat fruit yoghurt ( 250 calories ) Skim milk( 167 calories)

2. Meat.

Meat comes in many ways; sausages, ham, meat pie, bacon and the likes. Most meat is boiled, roasted, deep-fried or grilled. Boiled meat is the only healthy because there is no oil used for cooking. Here is the total amount found in Sausages( 1232 calories), Pork chops(525 calories), Roasted chicken leg(475 calories), Roasted ham (369 calories), Raw bacon (117 calories).

3. Avocado. 

It is one fruit that is enjoyed when mixed in delicacies but it is known to be high in cholesterol. In every one avocado consumed it contains 322 calories while per 100g it contains 16o calories.

4. Sweet Potatoes. 

They are commonly known as ngwashe. In 100 g they contain 101 calories while in per cup mashed it has 258 calories.

5.Macadamia Nuts.

They contain healthy nuts which help in losing weight. The fat content in macadamia nuts is higher than that the one in almonds, cashews, and walnuts. Macadamia nuts contain 718 calories per 100 g while in a handful it has 204 calories.
