Three Players Who Will Benefit From Unai Emery’s Arsenal Exit

Arsenal is in a crisis at the moment. The London based team has not won a match in their last six fixtures and needed a stoppage-time equalizer to draw 2-2 with relegation-threatened Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

This has led to calls from various people including fans, former players and pundits to fire the head coach, Unai Emery. Below, we look at players who could benefit the most from his sacking.

Lucas Torreira

The Uruguay midfielder has been subject to a move away from the Emirates Stadium in the past few weeks. The main reason is how the manager uses him.

Unai Emery has been playing Torreira as an attacking midfielder while he is clearly a defensive-minded player. He likes to protect the backline which is exactly why Arsenal signed him in the first place.

Torreira would definitely be happy with Emery leaving.

Nicholas Pepe

The winger is yet to score from open play for the Gunners but that is mainly down to how the team sets up. Pepe plays most of his football in his own half which limits his goal-scoring opportunities.

Under Unai Emerys countless systems, everyone is expected to defend first and as a result, Arsenal does not score enough goals hence the negative goal difference in the league.

Matteo Guendouzi

The youngster has all the potential to be a world-beater but his progress under Emery is stalling. He does not have a specific role which is very vital for a young midfielder.

As a result, the Frenchman looks clueless on the pitch and that is affecting is confidence too!
