DCI Takes Stern Action Over Video of Man Assaulting Female Security Guard

The office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) has responded to a viral video of a man assaulting a female security officer.

While reacting to post on social media, the DCI office indicated that their detectives have already swung into action to trace the perpetrator.

The DCI office also urged the female officer assaulted to make a formal report with the police.

“Detectives are already narrowing down on the perpetrator. Meanwhile, the lady security officer has been called upon to make a formal report in pursuit of justice.

“We greatly condemn such violence against anyone in the course of their duty,” tweeted the DCI.

In video footage that has since gone viral on social media, a man identified as Justin driving a car with Reg No. KCC 594Y was captured on CCTV camera attacking a female security officer at around 1620hrs.

It is not clear what transpired but in the video, every moment the security officer tried to lock the gate, the man viciously attacked her forcing some passerby’s’ to intervene.

The assault reportedly happened on Sunday at Komarock phase 5A.

The incident happened barely a week after a supervisor of Eastmatt Supermarket in Kajiado was recorded assaulting a teller.

The video of the incident went viral on social media prompting the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution(DPP) to take action even though the two had reportedly reconciled.

Ibrahim Taraiya was re-arrested and arraigned before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi November 25.

Taraiya was denied bail after the prosecution argued that he was a flight risk after he attempted to escape in the nearing country, Tanzania.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and will be arraigned again at Kajiado High Court on December 6 when the case will be mentioned.
